Arima Onsenji Engi (Illustrated Origins of Arima Onsenji Temple)

In addition to having an intriguing origin where the monk Gyooki from the Nara period was guided to Arima Onsen (Kita-ku, Kobe City) due to a miracle by Bhaiṣajya-guru, this tells a story of another monk Ninsai visiting from Yoshino in Yamato Province (present-day Nara Prefecture) and renovating Onsen-ji Temple at the end of 12th century. This document is thought to be produced by an artist of Kyogano in the mid-Edo Period.
