Fall 1997 Sports Festival at Tojo Junior High .

The Science Club's Photo Record

For the first time this year, the science club was in charge of taking pictures at the Sports Festival. We were worried at first, but the pictures turned out well. Please take a look at them! -Club captain
Student Impressions .
Student impressions are translated from those published in the school newspaper following the event. Note: There are three classes (A, B and C) in each grade level (1st, 2nd and 3rd year).
Class 1A, Boy
I thought our team for the relay and other running events wouldn't be any good but, with teamwork, when it came down to it, we were pretty good. We didn't stumble even once during the event "Breath Together, Dash and Jump!" and we were successful twice in the "Giant Jumprope" event. We were fast in all the events. It made me think that we were pretty strong.

Class 1B, Girl
The "Cheer Squad Competition" was really fun. I thought it was great using the placards and pompoms. I thought it was really good when our squad leader broke the roof tiles with a karate chop and everyone applauded wildly.

Class 1C, Girl
I thought the junior high school Sports Festival was very tiring. It's hard because you have to participate in almost all of the the events. I was at the broadcast tent, but it was boring. We flew like never before in the "31-legged Race" and the "Giant Jumprope" events, so I was happy. I think I'll practice for next year. I want the championship!

Class 2A, Girl
For me the Sports Festival was fun, happy, tough and sad, so it really left an impression. I was happy that are class could get 3rd place. Thanks to our practice we got 1st in the "Failed Diet" event. We worked extremely hard as a class and as individuals and it came together well, I think.

Class 2B, Boy
What stays with me the most about the Sports Festival is winning the "Cheer Squad Competition". We improved with practice every day in events such as "All Members Relay" and "Jumping Kids", and on the day of the festival we really flew. I was really happy. Our trust deepened and working as one and getting the championship is a very big memory for me.

Class 2C, Girl
The happiest thing for me during the Sports Festival was the "Failed Diet" event. Our 8-legged team was able to run for the first time. During practice we could only go two or three steps before we'd lose our rhythm and fall down. With just our legs tied and a lot of guts we could run on the day of the festival. It's because our hearts became one. From now on I want to cherish that feeling.

Class 3-C, Boy
For me this Sports Festival ended as a great success. The various clubs, student council members and project groups involved in carrying out the event each took their responsibility to get the job done. As a result the festival ended as a success and something that will remain with me. I think this was a Sports Festival made by the students, with the third year students as leaders. Though it's over now, I feel a sense of accomplishment. The heavier the responsibility and the greater the job, in the end, the more one feels accomplished. I feel over and over, that I've gained something. This year's Sports Festival will really remain with me.
