8th Grade Watercolor Project
Theme: "Friends Playing Cards"
When applying watercolor to a penciled sketch, the pencil lines would disappear. This frustrated the students. So we made the preliminary drawings using an ink brush, directly onto the paper. So as not to worry about mistakes and draw loose, carefree lines...
- 3 sheets were given to work with.
- 5 minutes was allowed for making a rough outline, without minding detail.
- Drawings could be combined in a collage to communicate the atmosphere of a card game.
Some restrictions on the brush: Be conscious of mixing and diluting colors.
