Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History
Nobuyuki Hata,museum's curator
Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History.
We express our sincere thanks and appreciation for your visit.
In April 1983, this museum was established with an aim to promote prefectural residents’ understanding of local history, contribute the development of educational, academic and cultural aspects and introduce the richness of Hyogo to the visitors coming from outside Hyogo. In April 2007, the museum reopened with some new facilities. As part of its 20th anniversary project, the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History investigated what the Prefectural Museum should be, and the result of this investigation threw some hint on the renewal plan of exhibition rooms which is called the “Kouryu Museum”.
The concept of the “Kouryu Museum” is to offer space where people from all ages, children to the elderly alike, people who would like to have special time or people who have an interest in local history, can spend a satisfying and relaxing time or interact with other visitors regardless of age and sex.
Please enjoy the museum to your heart’s content.
In April 1983, the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History opened in the northeast of the special historic area

In 1996, the exhibits in the Permanent Exhibition Room were renewed, the Special Exhibition Room was enlarged
