Opening Events will be held to celebrate the re-opening of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History.
From Children to the elderly, anybody is welcome to attend these activities.
You will re-discover the richness of the local society and Hyogo, where you can find lots of splendid Japanese culture.

■Tea Ceramics Exhibition From Satsuma tea lover’s collection
Touchy-feely Tea ceramics which Satsuma tea lovers have collected are displayed.
 *On the 29th and 30th April, restrictions on visitations may be in place because lectures will be held at the museum.

 Date: Sun 29th April to Sun 3rd June




■Flower Arrangement Exhibition
Flowers which have been arranged by 6 different traditions are displayed.

 Date: Sun 29th April to Sun 6th May









■Fusako Araki’s Dolls Exhibition “Mind of Sunshine”
The exhibition of dolls made by Japanese paper
 The reconstruction of the Shouwa life in Harima

 Date: Tue 8th May till Sun 3rd June












■Virtual Experience
 You can do the simulated experience of the world of the Himeji-Castle and castle town
 by seeing real CG and Emaki (moving-picture scroll) in the theatre with a big screen sized 9m×3m.

 Date: Fri 20th Apri 〜 : This exhibition is held from the re-opening date.



■Tea Ceremony Experience
 You can enjoy the tea ceremony.
 *teacake charges of 300 yen are required.

 Date: Sun 29th April till Sun 6th May and Sun 3rd June



■**Kendama and ***Origami Workshop
 Let’s play with Kendama and origami. Instructors teach you how to play with Kendama and origami.

 Date: Thu 3rd May

 ** Kendama is a wooden toy shaped in a cross which is made by two different shapes of wooden sticks.
 One end of the wooden stick is sharp and penetrates to other side to end in the shape of a dish.
 Prepare another wooden stick whose edges also end in the shape of a dish.
 Unite those two sticks together in the shape of a cross. This is what a Kendama is.
 ***Origami is square coloured paper. You fold this paper to make various shapes like animals, love-hearts etc.



■Experience the Making Sugiwara Japanese Paper Workshop
 Why don’t you make easy Japanese paper?
 * Participation cost of 500 yen is required.

 Date: Fri 4th May 60-80 min. 1 workshop each in the morning and the afternoon









■****Shakuhachi and Koto Performance
 Presenter: Shakuhachi - Tazan way of Shakuhachi By Yozan Hiromi
       Koto - Ikuta way of Koto songs Miyagi society By Junko Nishikawa and Kaori Nishikawa

 Date: Wed 2nd May 2 performances ain a day (30 min each) 11:00 ~ and 14:00~

 **** Shakuhachi is a kind of Japanese recorder and Koto is a kind of a stringed instrument.





■Friendship Society Project Ozakihousen Temple “Ebisu Daikokumai(Japanese Dance)”
