The JET Programme allows participants from many countries around the world to work at Japanese junior and senior high schools. It is open to everyone between the ages of 18 and 35 who have a university degree.
CLAIR
CLAIR is one of the main sponsors and coordinators of the JET Programme. They are responsible for organising a lot of the predeparture information, selection and placement of candidates, orientations, publications for JETs and many other resources for JETs.
Government Web Sites
Monbusho is the Japanese Department of Education in English. Their web site has information about education, white papers and reforms for the Japanese education system. They are one of the sponsors of the JET Programme.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Another JET Programme sponsor, this Ministry has information on Japan's economic affairs and regional and foreign policies.
Ministry of Home Affairs
The Ministry has information on domestic issues such as decentralization, the local tax system and Furusato-Zukuri (Hometown Development). They are another of the JET Programme sponsors.
