January,2001
Mr. Riichi NAGAKI, Policeman.
Mr. Riichi NAGAKI, Policeman.
The main purpose of the police is to maintain public peace. When disaster happens, the police will perform various activities as follows;
- Maintain the disaster guard system in an emergency.
- Be involved in the rescue operations.
- Get hold of the damage situations.
- Organize the traffic and transportation measures for carrying out the rescue operations smoothly.
- Post-mortem activities.
Policemen are willing to help people and people's lives. But we act only after accidents happen. To prevent accidents or disasters, we expect all citizens, especially the young, to be alert. In rescue operations, the young volunteers did a lot. We policemen are just the working part in society and you, young citizens, are the thinking part in society. I hope you will stay alert and act according to the idea of "helping others".
