An invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Sixth Pacific Islands Leaders’ Forum (PALM6) on May 24, 2012 at the Iikura Guest House in Tokyo was sent to Ms. Deidre Yamanguchi

Deidre Yamanguchi, an ALT from the Republic of Palau who teaches at AboshiSenior High School in HyogoPrefecture was invited by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Gemba to attend the Sixth Pacific Island Leaders’ Forum (PALM6) at the Iikura Guest House in Tokyo on May 24, 2012.

Inviting ALTs from the Pacific region is one of Japan’s accomplishments as promised during the PALM Ministerial Interim Meeting in October 2010.There are currently 6 ALTs from the Pacific, one of which is me?Deidre Yamanguchi.

The invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was an opportunity for participants to witness and observe the exchanges between Japan and the PacificIslands and how they have been successful in accomplishing their commitments.
